Coop Elections Hungama

Coop Elections hungama: Politicking Wishesh

Coop Elections hungama: Politicking Wishesh

Namaskaram andi!

Hope you are enjoying your special exclusive from Wishesh. Before you get into hectic schedules, we try to bring out, how public like you & me feel about the present happenings. The importance of the day is that the local cooperative polls shall be conducted across the state on Monday. The whole state would elect the DCCB and DCMS directors. Polling has started amidst tight security at the booths. Polling shall be over by this afternoon.

This is just the lighter side of the issue while no harm is intended to anyone. This section includes gossips from the grapevine for reader enrichment. Do send in your comments or criticism for us to give you the best...........(Wishesh AarKay)

Coop-Elections02

Supreme Court on local polls today: Why cannot reservations in the local polls not exceed 50 percent? This would be the argument of the state government in Delhi. To an earlier decision of the government to give room for 60.5 percent reservation in the Panchayati Raj nominations, the Apex Court objected for the same. The Supreme court objected to this record decision and urged that nothing above 50 percent is not permitted. The case  shall come up for hearing today and the arguments in this regards shall proceed.

According to stats given by the Census India 2001 report, 'The total population of Andhra Pradesh, as per the 2001 Census is 76,210,007. Of this, 12,339,496 (16.2 per cent) are Scheduled Castes (SCs). The SC population constitutes 7.4 per cent of the country’s SC population.' Hence the official population record the SC & ST constitute a rough quarter of the entire population. However taking into account the apex court's order seems to hold good. But why are the leaders in power want a change?

The whole funda is the numbers game. Governments ruled by elected members of a particular party want to favor the weaker sections in bringing out a favorable result at the electorate. Many analysts believe that the reservations at all levels is achieving only objective of bringing at par in the communal hierarchy, earlier a forward castes domain. On the other hand, logical thinkers want the right knowledged, irrespective of castes must be bestowed with the responsibility. By doing so development at all levels. Even when massive sops are offered to the weaker sections, there are a few who are reluctant to compete.

Coop-Elections03

Will Coop polls reveal the winner: In reality, coop polls were to suggest the distribution of power to the macro levels. As per the practice many coop seats are competed as individuals who later prefer to get attached to a party. In the coop set up there are directors, who are elected and the directors get a chance to elect their Managing Director at the District level.

Now this time again there seems to be speculations in the air that this exercise is also a litmus test to the ruling party. The leading opposition Telugu Desam Party has been embarking on a massive walkathon by its Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu. There had been wide coverage for the party at the rural levels with his 'Vastunna Mee Kosam.' On the other hand, the YSR Congress has been the most successful in spite of its leader sitting in Chanchaguda prison. As for the ruling party, it is an another do-or-die situation for Kiran Sarkar. The number of Coop heads coming under the Congress roof would consolidate the position of the ruling regime.

Coop-Elections04

Botsa & Kiran try their best to lure Coops: The PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana and the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy are both hectic lobbying to ensure a party win in the Coop polls scheduled for the day. However the party with more leaders than followers seems to have solved the Rubik cube in a tactical manner. Yet there are some untied hitches looming over the party.

Some districts like the Adilabad  and Rangareddy were still on tenterhooks to accept the Congress supremacy. On the other hand, in Krishna District where TDP had a strong hold is now contemplated to be equally competed by Congress and just born YSR Congress. All the three parties are going all out in expressing their confidence over the victory in the district.

In Kadapa where the YSRCP has a strong hold, Congress wants to try its hand hard. In the T region the TDP had joined hands with the CPI and hopes to keep oppositions at bay. Even Congress seems to have joined hands with CPM, speculate sources. For once this time the ruling party seems to be jointly fighting with the oppositions and by the end of the day we could know whether they succeeded or not. However Kiran Kumar seems to be pinning on another survival, lets see who will be rejoicing and who would be remorseful by the evening.

Jagan's remand extended up Feb 27: Supporters of the Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be irked by the detention of their leader without CBI submitting the proofs of his involvement in the high value Disproportionate Assets case. Yesterday when the case had come for hearing after his last remand tenure ended on Wednesday, the Court questioned the CBI on the similar lines. However CBI put up a bold face with the same old argument that being an elite personality his freedom could sabotage the evidence which is just braving to come forth.

Looking at things the whole scenario looks political, vindictive and what not. But many sympathizers believe the tiger in the barricades is more fearful. Similarly Jagan in the confines has boosted the party's opportunities with growing public patronage.

Under these circumstances, the leader is working towards the success of the party where ever he is. Since the last eight months he had been confined by the investigation agency and that is sure to reap rich dividends at the electorate in the coming days. A similar fete was visible when the state went for by polls in June last year. Of the eighteen seats, YSR Congress Party led by Jagan won nearly 16 and gave a tough battle for TRS in its lone victory. However Congress just won two seats while TDP was tossed out of its strong holds in the Krishna district and in the end got no seats.

Poli-3

Another defection in TDP: Jagan's party has been the retiring room to many defections from other parties. Leaders have walked out of various parties and joined this young Kadapa MP who aspires to rule the state through the electorate. There were instances of mass exodus from Congress and TDP into the Jagan's party. However for sometime there was a break on the issue and seldom talks of political attrition was noted.

The latest news that has surfaced yesterday with the visit of a prominent TDP leader to Chanchalguda is sure to put the party in unrest for quite sometime. The MLA belongs to the northern parts of the state.

Another shock to the TDP is that its MLC Boddu Bhaskara Rama Rao is also ready for the giant leap. He also visited Jagan in his prison. According to political critics, Chanchalguda has become a not-to-miss landmark for the political leaders with the kingpin in state politics, Jagan being lodged there.

The irony is, Jagan seems to garner more mileage after CBI started the probing his involvement in massive corruption. This leaves the average common man ponder over who is right and who is wrong? Have we got an alternative, not likely in the near future...

No celebration on KCR's birthday: TRS will not celebrate this Sunday after the party supremo has resented celebrations on his birthday. TRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao has voiced that he would not be celebrating his birthday this year due to the mounting suicides of the Telangana youth. In fact his birthday is on Feb 17, and his followers plan massive celebrations on that day every year. But this year the leader has firmly said a no.
Why?
There has been wide speculations over his withdrawal. The rumors gained prominence as the situation was more worse in the past. As per some speculations it is felt that the party's inability to voice against Delhi over the dillydallying of Congress on the T issue. There has been resentments from the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee. In order to gain back the party's lost glory as head of the movement, this move by the supremo is sure to make the difference, claim critics.

Politics On Seven Hills

Botsa's Delhi itinerary:  There is always a tussle for power in Congress more than any other party. The reason being that the other parties glow in the traditional political setup rallying behind a clan. But in Congress the local party banks on the collective brand equities of individual leaders across the party. Hence in Congress there are more leaders than in any other parties and lesser followers when compared to the others. This was the strength of the party that has survived for years since independence. But the other parties have no scope of survival if the ruling clan are troubled.

Under these circumstances our Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, initially operated the state with remote controls from Delhi. To this day he cannot wish a happy morning without a faintest doubt of his sustenance till the day ends. And now in this league is the PCC Chief Botsa Sathyanarayana. He has attracted a considerable ire from the other side, after his participation in the Rajahmundry meet of unified state leaders.

Anyways, he is right now in Delhi trying to appease the Omni potent of the party. But as per records, the chief is to highlight the demands of the public from the T region (sort of a patch up). While addressing the lens men at the national capital, the leader informed that Congress was keenly bent upon finding an amicable on T. He added that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi shall discuss at length on the issue during the 15, 16 PCC -CLP meet.

Political clout is the master key at TTD: Anything can be done on the seven hills with political clouts, is a general feeling among many devotees. As we stand in queues the VVIPS zoom past us and pay their respects to the Lord in much longer duration. On the other hand, we slog and reach the shrine only to be carefully pushed through by the volunteers. The whole strenuous journey culminates with just a fraction of  a second darshan of the Lord. Even this is a general experience of all common persons like you and me.

Not only with darshan, even laddus, sevas and what not, every lock at Tirumala can be opened by the 'master key' political clout. And the recent incident is no strange one. Against the rules, for Minister Viswaroop's son's wedding  temporary structures are erected outside a VVIP guest house. The wedding is scheduled on 14 & 15 of this month. It is true that 13, 14 and 15 are big time for marriages and nearly one lakh ceremonies held across the state. Probably even Tirupati is completely occupied and the minister used his good offices to get things done. However it is against the rules of TTD to put up a structure in the common area. While the works are moving abreast, the authorities are silent or unavailable for comments!

Unified Andhra meet on March 2: T state issue this time seems to boil on the other side of the state. The Unified AP Committee (Samaykya Andhra Samrakshana Samithi) plans to organise a massive meet beside the NRI hospital on the Guntur-Vijayawada highway, on March 02 between 10 am to 5 pm.  The committee's Guntur district President Shaik Jaleel on Monday released a press note in this regards.

Nearly 117 MLAs demanding unified state, would participate in this meet which would have students from almost ten universities. Apart from them Joint Action Committee representatives of the students, women, employees, lawyers, minorities and many more would also participate. The committee welcomes people with similar ideology to participate and make the event a grand success.

The sole ideology of the mammoth meet is to make the demands of the other side heard to the center. Things are heating up at a rapid pace on both the sides and with March approaching fast, parents of students are worried over the outcomes of these meets. And pray that it should not affect the future of the state students.

Congress Old Umbrella

Congress's old umbrella to avoid T storm: Politicking Wishesh

Namaskaram andi!

Hope you are enjoying your special exclusive from Wishesh. Before you get into hectic schedules, we try to bring out, how public like you & me feel about the present happenings. This is just the lighter side of the issue while no harm is intended to anyone. This section includes gossips from the grapevine for reader enrichment. Congress-old-01

Congress precipitates T further, as usual: Either the national ruling party is unable to find a solution to the impending T issue, or the regional parties are unable to give their backing for an amicable answer to the storm that is brewing in the T region. Whatever, T is heating up for another agitation against the national silence on the issue. Union Minister Manish Tiwari once again emphasized, while at Hyderabad,  Congress party is seriously trying to get a consensus over the issue.

This announcement simply implies another postponement. On the other hand, T activist are avidly looking for an favorable solution. And the delay is irking them, which is an obvious reaction. Critics now speculate whether the ruling party would adhere to the 'cat on the wall' policy till the 2013 general elections. Similar to the previous elections make them two phases where in the first one major regions of Andhra and some areas of T would go to polls, vice-versa in the second phase. Then conveniently the ruling party could announce the T assurance during the second phase to garner maximum mileage from both sides.

Congress-old-02

All parties are against T formation: The Telangana political joint Action Committee (JAC) supremo Professor Kodandaram, vented out his feelings of discomfort  against the prominent three parties for obstructing the T formation. Though the parties like TDP and YSRCP welcomed the T proposal at the all-party-meet, Kodandaram slammed them for playing behind the screens. He spoke about the under ploy of the three major parties including the Congress at the T student event. However he also added that those who came in support of the T agitation cutting party lines must be welcomed.

However, critics were skeptical over the speech of the leader and felt when all the major parties had opposed the formation how could the state be obtained. They felt that a valid explanation from the JAC Chief, in  this regards would have benefited many as it addresses the issue.

Congress-old-03

What is the future of students?: Last year the Sakala Janula Samme brought agony to many students and their parents in the T region. This year it looks worse for both sides. The T agitation retorted by the Unified state protests are mostly student centered. The politicians are just giving speeches on both the sides while it is the student organizations, which are highly combustible cells of the society are taking the protests on their shoulders. In the process are they ruing their lives, is a question that is haunting the parents across the borders.

Come March, the whole itinerary of the students is filled with numerous competitive exams and year ending exams. All this needs a immense preparations to stay abreast to the latest developments. But with these proposed agitations across borders how far would the local students be competitive with their national counterparts, and if so how many would be is? Hope one of the agitating leaders would be kind enough to give a solution to this problem.

Is rapport with MIM creating problems for YSRCP: It is a known fact that (MIM) Owaisi clan and YSR clan, vibe well and share a good relationships. Another fact is that YSR Congress is gaining prominence in the Telangana region. These are two different incidents with one common reaction. The YSRCP seems to be getting into a murky situation on this.

While the TRS seems to be blaming the YSRCP over Akbaruddin's 'hate' speech, even has been overheard as blaming Jagan Mohan Reddy being instrumental for the issue. On the contrary, YSRCP  denied the whole allegation and equally condemned the issue, though after a hiatus. The delay had let the tongues wag, feel critics.

Like-father02

Like father..... like son: Nara Chandrabbu Naidu and his son Lokesh are people who talk the same word in different languages. Like the father tries his best to woo rural voters by his fiery speeches,  and the modern younger leader takes to his twitter account to address his literate brethren. On the other hand, media gives prominence to both campaigning leaders, with due credence. About the seniors, Vastunna Mee Kosam, crossing 1,500 kms, Lokesh expressed no surprise but admired the determination of the 63-years-old veteran, to fight for people. That sounds great!

On the contrary, men on the ruling side claim that the leader has granted 'impossible' boons to the public, enroute his padayatra. The veteran on his massive walkathon had been promising the moon for which is is little known whether the party has done some homework or if its just to garner support.

However critics felt a little uncomfortable with the schemes announced by the TDP and were short of words to express why the leaders had not implemented such welfare programs during the earlier nine year rule. Had he done it...he would not have been dethroned at all.

Like-father03

Blaming game: Congress and TDP go all out, without reasons, to lash at each other at every , to gain political mileage and have a dig. While the TDP is strongly holding on to its placard about the corruption in ruling party, Congress looks for various reasons.

The other day political statement by PCC Chief Botsa became a joke to the onlookers. The leader blamed the TDP over the delay of the T issue. Probably he was mentioning about the U-turn taken by TDP in 2009, after Congress hinted over Telangana formation. But to talk about it now was meaningless, felt many present over there.

Particularly after the ruling party's two member team expressed two opinions on the issue at the all-party-meet held in Delhi. In fact Congress was the only party that behaved differently while all others expressed pro-T opinions. Among all  TDP's stand was most appreciated by contemporaries cutting party lines. Yet, Botsa took an older instance to revive the blame game.

Padayatara Special

Padayatara Special: Politicking Wishesh

Padayatara Special: Politicking Wishesh

Namaskaram andi!

Hope you are enjoying your special exclusive from Wishesh.  This is just to bring out the lighter side of the issue while no harm is intended to anyone. This section includes gossips from the grapevine for reader enrichment. In today's columns we shall discuss about Padayatra political saga for garnering public vote, various thoughts expressed by leaders on the ongoing trends.  Do send in your comments or criticism for us to give you the best..............(Wishesh AarKay)

Padayatra1History of Padayatra: Probably Padayatra or walkathon's started long ago, but those days they were part of human life as an efficient mode of transport was not available. But now a days it has become a way to enlighten public and to assure them of ones availability. Those days due to lack of proper transport they used to walk, but these days our leaders walk as their air conditioned, well-equipped vehicles follow them enroute.

TDP doyen and founder N T Ramarao, was the known modern leader who started this mass contact program of reaching the public with his bus yatra in the early 80's and that made him the first non-congress Chief Minister to rule the state in 1983.

Padayatra2Then we had the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who embarked on a walkathon in 2003 covered 1475 km during hot summers covering 33 constituencies. The event Prasthanam, reinstated Congress in power after a long gap in 2004. and since then has been ruling the state.

Padayatra3And now our TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu embarked on Vastunna Mee Kosam and has successfully gone past YSR by completing 1500kms covering 40 constituencies. Babu wanted to enlighten the corrupt practices of the ruling party that had led to the downfall of the state in amny ways.

Padayatra4On the other hand YSR's daughter, Sharmila also went on a Padayatra, 'Maro Prasthanam' but had to cut short the journey due to an injury. Sharmila wanted to highlight the ways her brother was detained on vindictive stances by the ruling party hand-in-glove with the opposition.

Padayatra5The irony was that a 60+ old veteran with all complications like diabetes and BP is able to walk healthy and cover 1500 kms while a young woman who was hale and healthy had cut short her walkathon citing injury. Anyways we have to move on to discuss what the leaders are feeling about these yatras.

Padayatra6Babu's Padayatra is just for records: YSRCP MLA, Gadikota Srikanth Reddy expressed that Babu's padayatra was only for records. He also criticized the senior leader for embarking on a 'morning walk' type walkathon. If Babu's walk is as the leader describes than what should Sharmila's yatra be called as?

Padayatra7No-crowd Padayatra: Congress chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy claimed that Babu's padayatra was a n-crowd padayatra. While in reality media images revealed large gatherings at each of the meetings of the veteran enroute. The Congress leader adds that the party activists are struggling to bring in crowds. He also claimed that Babu's event was mainly to avoid many political embarrassing situations, for which he had no answer and divert public attention.

Padayatra8On the whole, at the moment Babu has bettered all records and is leading all the way. However in comparison to the salient points that were achieved by YSR and Babu while in rule, the former had opted for people's welfare while the later opted for infrastructure development (http://www.andhrawishesh.com/home/hot-buzz/36366-babu-becomes-maha-netha-.html).

Both were right and visionaries, in their own perspective. Hope we get the next leader who is a right blend of these two stalwarts.

PCC Sadasu for Samaikya Andhra

PCC Sadasu for Samaikya Andhra? : Politicking Wishesh

PCC1

Will PCC Sadasu be for Samaikya Andhra?

The sudden postponement of the massive Congress plenary at Vijayawada, came as a surprise to many in the elite circles. The regional meeting was the second in series and the first one was held at the capital, last month. The chaotic atmosphere created by the Telangana groups did not allow the core committee to formulate vital issues, in the first one. With the demand for separate state growing, probably at Vijayawada, Congress leaders this time fear to listen the music of the unified Andhra activists.

However with Congress high command planning in favor of state partition with some special powers, might not see welsome sign at Vijayawada, where the hard core unified state activists are in abundance. This could be a concern for the high command and hence planned a convenient self imposed reasonless delay. But if this is the situation at the moment, then what will happen during the 2014 general elections in Seemandhra region? Will Congress make over by then to regain public vote?

 PCC2

Owaisi senior in embarrassing situation

Young Akbaruddin Owaisi's 'hate' speech has attracted national ire. After staying calm for quite sometime the state police have at last booked cases on Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA. He is right now away in London and the cops plan to alert Interpol, in case he does not return in the near future.
An alleged online video wherein Akbaruddin, was seen using inflammatory and derogatory words against a particular community, while addressing a public meeting (MIM Jalsa) at Nirmal town of Adilabad district, had been the reason.

However the issue is sure to irk the senior Asaduddin Owaisi, Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad. Asaduddin known for his earlier weird attacks had turned very polite after becoming a parliamentarian and this will sure embarrass the senior by all means. The 'hate' speech episode seems to have attracted the dissent of local Muslim clergy aswell. This could be the main concern of worry, for the senior. Though controversies are not new to the MIM, this time feeling the heat from its own turf is a hurdle for the senior leader, who visions, a national platform for the party.

 PCC3

Mother's love voices against the disparity:

YSR Congress honorary supremo lashed out at the investigating agencies and the nation's set up over detaining her son and party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at Chanchalguda for so long. While addressing a meet at Patancheruvu in Hyderabad, Mother's love voiced against the disparity shown on her son. She recalled that when crores of rupees was found under the beds of the union minister's daughter, no action was taken. Numerous complaints against the TDP supremo were unheeded as he supported the ruling party. However her son was the prime target as he opposed the ruling party.

Though the appeal had issue, most cases against the supremo were legally incorrect and about the union minister's case, investigation is on and law should be taking its course.

As a veteran quoted, in the eyes of law all are equal. However, few others speculate that only electoral gains can get the YSRCP leader, free and that is not far off either?

Each Party Strategy For All Party Meeting

Each party strategy for all party meeting? : Politicking Wishesh

Each party strategy for all party meeting? : Politicking Wishesh

Namaskaram andi!

Hope you are enjoying your special exclusive from Wishesh. We try to bring out how the public like you & me feel about the present happenings. Again today the all-party-meet is high on the  agenda and unofficially mercury levels in the north block of the Secretariat, must be surging high beyond the boiling point, where the eight parties from the state are meeting.

Each of the party, namely Congress, TDP, YSRCP, BJP, CPI and CPM are sending two leaders each from the either conflicting regions, in addition to TRS and MIM that will also send two each. They are supposed to express the same feeling and would not conflict openly, atleast. The stage is set and let's see what the parties might be feeling from the feelers expressed since the last one week.

Shinde

What could be the out come at all-party-meet?: The people choice outcome at the all-party-meet, would be to amicably settle the issue without any further delay. Because a delay is sure to induce friction which is not good for the common man and students especially.

Innovate all-party-meet proposal would be to leave it to the people to decide. That is probably the parties with their own slogans try their luck at the electoral in the 2014 general elections and watch the outcome. If the party that grabs the maximum seats in the Telangana region has won with a separatist agenda then do accordingly. But a political morale need be exhibited by each party, which could be done if not an extra penny is spent other than the stipulated amount by the EC by each party.

The third outcome that is most dreaded by the common man is each party playing its cards closed and waiting for the other to announce and the whole time would eventually be wasted. In such a situation the result is 'back to square number one.' However this outcome is most feared as it would result in a political chaos in the state for most to justify their stands.

You never know a possible fourth outcome could as well drop from the sky that is unpredictable and could either better or worsen the situation...all we can right now do is hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.

Shinde1

Congress point of view: Does the party want others to pronounce first and later announce its decision. This is the general feeling expressed by the oppositions. While the party's Seemandhra leaders want a unified Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Congress leaders think otherwise. However an interesting question posed by senior leader V Hanumantha Rao is worth mentioning. He claimed that by announcing Telangana he could assure that Congress 15-16 seats from the region, on the contrary do the leaders of the other side confirm that they would get atleast twenty five seats if the state is unified, in the coming elections.

Nevertheless, there are two points to note, did the leader mean in alliance with TRS or individually. The second point is why the tall claiming Seemandhra leaders were speechless on the issue.

Shinde2

TDP point of view: TDP has conveniently said that it had announced its decision in 2008 letter sent to the then concerned. But the party never mentioned about it's U-turn on December 11 2009, just a day after the Congress high command had announced about the proposal for the T formation. There is no mention about the issue by the yellow party but for a few criticism by its former ally, TRS. TDP cleverly wants to follow the Congress policy as to wait and then announce.

 Shinde3

TRS Point of view: TRS is one party that is confident that this all-party-meet will yield no solutions. They claim that they were well aware of the Congress tactics to conveniently postpone things by giving hopes like mirages. The party is gearing up for the aftermath course of action after the all-party-meet. Probably they are interested in showing their dominance in the area and are not much inclined towards achieving. As per their statements they are well aware of the high commands attitude,  if so why did the party favour the UPA on all those occasions when BJP was waring with the ruling party?

Shinde4

YSR Congress Point of view: This latest off-shoot of Congress is treading carefully on a 'cat-on-the-wall' strategy. Though they claim that they respect the feelings of the T region, they could face dissensions from their Seemandhra siblings, on the issue. However playing judiciously without hurting the sentiments on both the sides and by increasing the sympathy wave that is already in abundance for the party, YSRCP hopes to cruise further with this all-party-meet.

With different strategies on their minds this all-party-meet could pose a bigger problem to Congress and in general to common man if it yields no decisive outcome. Atleast the exercise must be a precedent to more in future and then with hope the turmoil would ease. (Wishesh AarKay)
