Its a four way battle in Maharashtra

Its a four way battle in Maharashtra

It is totally over now in Maharashtra as two national parties Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] and Indian National Congress [INC] separated away from their allies for the Assembly elections scheduled in October. The BJP and Shiv Sena ended their 25-year-old relationship while the Nationalist Congress Party [NCP] broke ties 15 years after it allied with the Congress.

Ironically all the four parties wants more number of seat share in the election which clearly show they want to crown the top chair of the next government. Read more ..

Kejriwal wants fresh polls in Delhi

Kejriwal wants fresh polls in Delhi

Kejriwal wants fresh polls in Delhi

Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has intensified his fight to hold fresh elections in Delhi at any cost.
On Sunday, the former chief minister of Delhi held a rally at Jantar
Mantar and demanded to dissolve the Delhi Assembly and call for fresh
polls.

This is
the first public gathering of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal post the Lok Sabha
elections and a good number of people turned up to the rally.  Kejriwal
gave 35 minutes speech addressing the people. “The BJP government in
the Centre is wantedly delaying the elections in Delhi. We demand to
hold the elections now and are confident to win majority seats this time
to form government. If the government delays, AAP will gain strength
every day,” said Kejriwal. He also accused that BJP and Congress had to
come to mutual understanding in Delhi and hence are not holding the
elections. “They are scared and if elections are held, BJP and Congress
will be wiped in Delhi,” added the AAP convenor

AAP has
won 28 seats in last year elections which gave a major shock to the
Congress party which has been ruling for the past 15 years. However, AAP
stepped down from the government on February has the Jan Lokpal Bill
got deferred in the Delhi Assembly.

An Aam Aadmi's honest protest for security

An Aam Aadmi's honest protest for security

An Aam Aadmi's honest protest for security!!!
The Aam Aadmi's protest in Delhi is turning out to be violent one but where is protest heading to is something to be questioned. There is nothing wrong in Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's demand against the Delhi police for failing to abide their orders. Now the protest has entered second day and things went out of control as AAP workers tried to break the barricades and enter protest site. Over 11 AAP workers, four policemen and a reported got injured in this clash.

Security is the top priority than anything in this democratic country and it is a fundamental right. But why are the Delhi Police so arrogant and why are they showing much enthusiasm against Delhi CM's protest and why aren't they much cared about public's safety. Well the crime rate in the National capital is increasing at jet speed, even though AAP government stepped in and Delhi Police are unmoved in this issue and specifically the security to women is at worst condition.

Kejriwal earlier claimed that Delhi Police have links with drugs and prostitution gangs and so they are backing to take action against. The rape on Danish women is another shocking incident which is a clear threat to all foreign visitors and murder of Andhra Pradesh techie Anuhya in Mumbai is also evidence of police negligence. No police in Mumbai showed interest in Anuhya murder case when the family complained about her missing. Finally the family members of the software engineer have traced out dead body. Where do the cops are actually doing their duties ?

Despite appealing to the Central government, Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde is still in the initial stages of discussion with the Delhi police. Why is this delay in discussion ? The Delhi public and entire nation is observing the developments in Kejriwal's protest. This  is not just to take authority over the police department but to make them work each and every second for the welfare of the people. If Andhra Pradesh had one person who questions Police acts  then Mafia don Dawood associates would never have got VVIP passes into the Tirupathi temple.

Ironically, from Congress to BJP every political party is slamming AAP government and claim Kejriwal as big liar. Do they have any mutual understanding? Now these political parties are more concerned about the Republic Day celebrations in the National capital owing security issues. But if all these so called leaders keep aside their flags and ideologies, they will definitely find an honest approach of Kejriwal's protest. Infact a common man will back the leader and their political party who serious stand up for public. This was quite evident in Delhi elections.

Police are the common man servants and in our country they are really meant to provide security for filthy rich people and their assets. Over hundreds of policemen get deployed for five minutes of PM or Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi's visit to any part of the county which eventually wastes a lot of public money. That is why Kejriwal put an dot to the VVIP culture. All hails to the Common Man CM Kejriwal!!!

Politics And Corruption 3

Politics And Corruption 3

Politics And Corruption-3

After getting independence and after the rule of the kings was abolished, democratic governance has started in India with multiple party system.  Political parties have emerged in the country.  There are two types of political parties- national and regional.  Regional parties registered with Election Commission are restricted to the respective States they are registered.  National parties should register in at least four states to get recognition from the Election Commission as a national party.

Indian Constitution does not insist on political parties to contest for elections.  But because of some of the advantages a political party enjoys, political parties have emerged.  Only individuals file nominations.  Contestants without a political backup are called Independent candidates.  Unlike an individual person, a political party forms with a specific purpose and policies which may be amended from time to time but will be made clear to the public about their goals.  It will be easier to the political parties to form Government as the support from the elected members of the party is assured.  For voters also it will be easier for them to go by the policy of the political party instead of by the merits of an individual unless the individual is very prominent and musters goodwill of the people.

There are also disadvantages from the political party system.  All the members of the party should support each other so that the party’s strength is ensured in spite of the difference in the personal opinion on some of the issues.  Joining a party makes them to follow the party blindly as their strength lies in it.  As per the anti defection law passed in 1985.

The 52nd amendment to the Constitution added the Tenth Schedule in the Anti defection law that laid down the process by which the legislators may be disqualified on the grounds of defection.  A Member of Parliament or State Legislature is deemed to have defected if he either voluntarily resigns from his party or disobeys the directives of the party leadership on a vote. That is, they may not vote on any issue in contravention to the party’s whip.

Independent members would be disqualified if they join a political party.  Nominated members who are not members of a party can choose to join a party within six months; after that period, they will be treated as a party member or as an independent member.

That means an elected member of a party cannot voice his own opinion?

Yes a member can do it.  But he cannot hold the position of an elected people’s representative as the member is voted by the voters in the elections treating the contestant as a representative of that particular party and will abide by the objects of that political party.  Logically it is right.  But it becomes a threat to the party’s elected member that he will lose the position of a legislator if he goes against the party.  It makes the legislator to abide by the rule of the party’s high command in order to hold the position.  That means an elected representative of the people loses his freedom to express his independent views.  All the decisions will be taken by the Party chief and the core members in the interests of the party’s sustenance and its development but not on the welfare of the people of a constituency of an elected representative.  A problem in the constituency of a legislator will be seen by the party from the view point of the party’s over all development. If justice cannot be done to the people of that particular region, the recommendations of the representative of that constituency will not be paid any attention by the party.

Party first is the policy of the political parties where as an independent candidate’s view point will be the welfare of the people he represents.  The independent contestants have to bear all the expenses and risks in the elections but a candidate representing a political party can save on the publicity as it will be a common affair for all the constituencies.  More over the party cadre will be of assistance for promotional activities.

Most of the political parties in India are led by a single person

Political parties mostly work on individual charisma of the party leader and sometimes some party leaders.  Congress, BJP, TDP, YSRCP, TRS, Loksatta, Shivasena, DMK, Anna DMK and parties of that sort are run by a single leader or by the association of a few leaders.

Political parties increase in number due to individual pursuit of political gains

As the political parties are run by one person or a small group some members may feel it as an anarchy or oligarchy.  A member who is confident of his capabilities and feels deprived of the right position in the party may like to defect the party to join other party where the recognition is promised or may float his own party to have a total control on it.

This is one of the main reasons for the number of political parties on the increase year by year in addition to the regional interests to be represented.  Every time a new party is formed the people of India look forward to the new party to deliver unlike old ones.  It needs a strong and prominent person to take the lead.

That is the reason why some of the political parties floated by the film actors could gather public support.  They are also used by the existing political parties to gain attention of the public and to cash in on the support of the fans of those film artistes.  NTR, MGR, Chiranjeevi started their own parties.  Balakrishna, Roja, Jr.NTR, Pawan Kalyan and others supported the existing parties they wished to support.  Actors like Vyjayanthi Mala, Jamuna, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Rajesh Khanna, Jaya Sudha, Jaya Prada, Vijaya Shanti supported parties by joining them and participating in the elections by getting party tickets.

Political parties will have agreements either before elections or after

Political parties who do not get absolute majority may join together to form Government.  This is allowed and not considered as defection.  A party can also merge with other party if 2/3rd majority agrees for it like in the case of Praja Rajyam Party founded by Chiranjeevi was merged with Congress party.  Sometimes political parties join together to get absolute majority.  They will have seat adjustments to avoid splitting of votes in a particular constituency.  The arrangement will also be announced by them so that the voters will understand it and vote accordingly.  Otherwise some of the voters may think that favorite party is missing in the election contest and it may result in voting some other political party than the allied one.

All this party system is convenient to hold the elections and to form Government and also to eliminate the chances of frequent fall of Governments due to defections as defectors will be minimum due to the party’s whip armed with the Anti Defection Act.

The party system that way became associations of the likeminded politicians with a common goal of getting power.

To be continued………..

United We Fall, Divided We Stand Is T Anthem

United we fall, divided we stand is T anthem: Politicking Wishesh

Namaskaram andi!

Hope you are enjoying your special exclusive from Wishesh. So back from your Sankranti vacations, hope all of you enjoyed the celebrations. Before you get into hectic schedules, we try to bring out how the public like you & me feel about the present happenings. This is just the lighter side of the issue while no harm is intended to anyone. This section includes gossips from the grapevine for reader enrichment. Do send in your comments or criticism for us to give you the best.............................................(Wishesh AarKay)

T-anthem01

United we fall, divided we stand is T anthem: Well over the years India a land with diverse cultures had emphasized on the tag line that 'Unity in Diversity.' But the situation in Andhra Pradesh is slightly different, the state is reeling under acute pressure for a division which seems to be at the moment on the agenda of the central government, as well. On one side the Telangana leaders are fighting for carving out a separate state from the unified Andhra Pradesh. On the other side, we have Seemandhra leaders struggling to keep the state united.

To the common man does a division make any difference, not much only his mobile bills might increase as he will be in roaming. Are our brethren from either sides have not been working in other states and countries too. Nevertheless is is just the power hungry tribe that is gambling with the sentiments. Every one wants his way and wants to take credit at the cost of the common loss. While the Seemandhra 'Naayaks' want to safe guard their interests, which are in abundant, in the T region. The T 'Naiks' want to usurp the well developed real estate.

On the whole, every one has his own goal but the irony is that in the name of agitation they ruin their own assets, which would push the region back by many years in development. Whether Andhra or T, India is one and we are all Indians, that is the permanent fact.

T-anthem02

Seemandhra leaders meet in Hyd: After the centre showing interests to divide the state, worried Seemandhra leaders who failed to convince the high command to refrain from separate the state, are holding a meeting in Hyderabad to chart their plans to oppose the move. However they are opposed by Their T counterparts who do not want them to hold meetings in Hyderabad.

Till today Hyderabad is the capital of the unified state and the Leaders from other side do have rights to hold a meeting in any part. If it is a four-walled meet, it is the discretion of the participants to voice their own opinion on any issue under the sun, at least that is what we call as democracy.

T-anthem03

We want Hyd State: With Congress sending feelers for T formation, another issue seems to rock the region. Many leaders of the state capital want the GHMC area to be demarcated as a separate state. They expressed that Hyderabad was a place of living for many migrants of various states across the nation and hence cosmopolitan in nature. By making it separate entity all their interests would be safe guarded. This opinion had been supported by many industrial bigwigs too, and seems to be an approved thought lingering in the minds of the leaders of the either sides, as well.

However the the T JAC Supremo Prof Kodanadaram was vehemently opposing any such move and said that there is no compromise in Telanagana with capital as Hyderabad. So after the T issue, Hyderabad row is sure to rock the state for some time since January 28, when the Centre would announce its decision on the precarious issue. On the whole, this T solution is surely not going to bring respite to Hyderabadis as the next one is brewing already.

Padayatara Special

Padayatara Special: Politicking Wishesh

Padayatara Special: Politicking Wishesh

Namaskaram andi!

Hope you are enjoying your special exclusive from Wishesh.  This is just to bring out the lighter side of the issue while no harm is intended to anyone. This section includes gossips from the grapevine for reader enrichment. In today's columns we shall discuss about Padayatra political saga for garnering public vote, various thoughts expressed by leaders on the ongoing trends.  Do send in your comments or criticism for us to give you the best..............(Wishesh AarKay)

Padayatra1History of Padayatra: Probably Padayatra or walkathon's started long ago, but those days they were part of human life as an efficient mode of transport was not available. But now a days it has become a way to enlighten public and to assure them of ones availability. Those days due to lack of proper transport they used to walk, but these days our leaders walk as their air conditioned, well-equipped vehicles follow them enroute.

TDP doyen and founder N T Ramarao, was the known modern leader who started this mass contact program of reaching the public with his bus yatra in the early 80's and that made him the first non-congress Chief Minister to rule the state in 1983.

Padayatra2Then we had the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who embarked on a walkathon in 2003 covered 1475 km during hot summers covering 33 constituencies. The event Prasthanam, reinstated Congress in power after a long gap in 2004. and since then has been ruling the state.

Padayatra3And now our TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu embarked on Vastunna Mee Kosam and has successfully gone past YSR by completing 1500kms covering 40 constituencies. Babu wanted to enlighten the corrupt practices of the ruling party that had led to the downfall of the state in amny ways.

Padayatra4On the other hand YSR's daughter, Sharmila also went on a Padayatra, 'Maro Prasthanam' but had to cut short the journey due to an injury. Sharmila wanted to highlight the ways her brother was detained on vindictive stances by the ruling party hand-in-glove with the opposition.

Padayatra5The irony was that a 60+ old veteran with all complications like diabetes and BP is able to walk healthy and cover 1500 kms while a young woman who was hale and healthy had cut short her walkathon citing injury. Anyways we have to move on to discuss what the leaders are feeling about these yatras.

Padayatra6Babu's Padayatra is just for records: YSRCP MLA, Gadikota Srikanth Reddy expressed that Babu's padayatra was only for records. He also criticized the senior leader for embarking on a 'morning walk' type walkathon. If Babu's walk is as the leader describes than what should Sharmila's yatra be called as?

Padayatra7No-crowd Padayatra: Congress chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy claimed that Babu's padayatra was a n-crowd padayatra. While in reality media images revealed large gatherings at each of the meetings of the veteran enroute. The Congress leader adds that the party activists are struggling to bring in crowds. He also claimed that Babu's event was mainly to avoid many political embarrassing situations, for which he had no answer and divert public attention.

Padayatra8On the whole, at the moment Babu has bettered all records and is leading all the way. However in comparison to the salient points that were achieved by YSR and Babu while in rule, the former had opted for people's welfare while the later opted for infrastructure development (http://www.andhrawishesh.com/home/hot-buzz/36366-babu-becomes-maha-netha-.html).

Both were right and visionaries, in their own perspective. Hope we get the next leader who is a right blend of these two stalwarts.
