Jagan Decided To Go On Hunger Strike
(AW: Vamshi)
Hunger strikes are not new for YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan
but they end up without any proper result. Yet again, Jagan decided to
go for a hunger strike in protest over the delay in farm loan waiver
scheme that was promised by Telugu Desam party during elections and came
into power. However, YSRCP leaders were against this decision of Jagan
and opposed it.
According
to the sources, few leaders opined that the party did not get much
response from the earlier programs and it would fetch nothing to party
if it launches another agitation. But Jagan is firm to go on hunger
strike and if leaders accepted this proposal yesterday, Jagan was
considering to go fast unto death from Eluru. In West Godavari district,
YSR Congress party did not win even a single seat in May elections and
so to strengthen the party in the district, Jagan opted Eluru.
YSRCP
leaders advised Jagan to be in wait and watch mode as the government has
announced to waive certain amount of farm loans in October and if
government fails to do so, then Jagan can go ahead with hunger strike
plan. Also the party has decided to stage protests from October second
week in regards to the farm loan waiver scheme. In addition to this,
YSRCP also discussed about the future of the party in Telangana state
and spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said, YSRCP will also operate in
Telangana. The government is yet to implement farm loan waiver scheme
and we will fight with people over this.
